Seasonal Motoring
The problem we face with driving in the U.K. is that the weather is actually not that extreme. Drive around in Siberia or the Sudan and you need to be prepared otherwise you risk your life.
In this country the weather changes, winter to summer and that change is a great difference, but the actual severity of the weather is not as great as in many parts of the world. As a result of this many drivers are not prepared so when it does happen they grind to a halt.
With a little preparation you should be able to cope well in the conditions we face in this country.
